Comings and Goings

With new car show room across the nation bulging with new autos and Autoport sending out just in time deliveries to fill empty slots, the winter crush of auto carriers has relaxed somewhat with only a few ships a week. K-Line's Panama flag Dalian Highway arrived today and sailed mid afternoon for Davisville, RI. The 58,535 grt, 21,616 dwt ship, built in 2011 by Nantong COSCO Kawaskai Heavy Industries in Nantong has a capacity of about 6200 cars.

It sailed out the main channel while the inbound YM Enlightenment  came in the western channel.

It is a regular on AL1 service for THE Alliance, first calling here May 14, 2017. Its has a capacity of 4662 TEU on 47,952 grt, 56,500 dwt.

The tethered escort tug Atlantic Bear swings into position as the ship passes the Middle Ground area.
