More rail, on MSM Don

Another load of rail for CN arrived this morning on MSM Don. The Cyprus flag ship gave its last port as La Coruna, Spain,  and judging by its low profile, must have made the passage partially submerged.

Built in 2011 in Rongcheng, Chinja, this is a 4200 gross ton ship of 5400 deadweight tonnes (these numbers vary depending on the source, with gross tonnage also reported at 4156, and deadweight at 5646). It is typical of the new breed of small general cargo/bulkers of the coastal/ocean type. When built it was gearless, and had only the traveling gantry for hatch lifting. Sometime during this year it was fitted with two 30 tonne cranes. Two sister ships in the same fleet were built with 45 tonne cranes.

The ship is part of the Mastermind Shipmanagement Ltd fleet of Limassol, Cyprus, and is classed as a coastal ship in their fleet index. More info on the company and its ships may be found on their website:
